From the selection of sites to overarching concepts, Crescent Heights incorporates sustainability into nearly every aspect of development. We respect and value the Earth and its wonderful, yet limited, resources, and take the necessary measures to ensure our ethics are carried through by the Crescent Heights brand standards.

Our projects are built to achieve LEED Silver or Gold certification, employing an array of green strategies that include sustainable site design, water use reduction, energy efficiency practices, and thoughtful material selection to both reduce environmental impact and protect indoor air quality. In order to decrease traffic congestion and carbon footprint, most Crescent Heights Residences offer bicycle storage, car and bike-sharing options, electric car-charging stations, and access to various forms of public transportation.

Green features range from sustainable landscaping, irrigation, and recycling, to the use of energy saving appliances, sewage treatment plants, and tree planting initiatives. Further examples of Crescent Heights’ commitment to sustainability include low energy LED light fixtures, individual thermostats and highly efficient HVAC and ventilation systems. Crescent Heights selects paints, adhesives, sealants, and coatings that demonstrate low VOC content, and wood-based materials that contain no added urea formaldehyde. We prioritize water use reduction for both indoor and outdoor applications, including the selection of a native or adapted drought-resistant planting palette and the use of an efficient drip-irrigation system. Demand on conventional water supplies and pressure on sewage treatment systems is reduced by the use of greywater, which also reduces the volume of sewage effluent entering watercourses.

Crescent Heights also institutes a Green Cleaning Policy to reduce the exposure of residents and staff to potentially hazardous chemical, biological, and particulate contaminants, which adversely affect air quality, human health, building finishes, building systems, and the environment.
